Payment Options

There are several major life events that occur over our lifetimes that bring us the most joy. Weddings, buying a house, having children, sending them to college, starting a business. Unfortunately, they also come with expenses.  Sweet Baby Midwifery, LLC wants to make having your home birth as stress-free as possible.

Our financial contract is up front.  No hidden fees.  Our Maternity Package includes your prenatal care, home birth and postpartum care.  Labs and ultrasounds are an additional fee but we have negotiated rates with local lab and radiology companies.  A deposit is required at your first visit. The remaining amount will be divided into equal monthly payments. Credit cards, checks and cash are accepted.

If you have insurance that you would like to use then I'd be happy to split the Package price between you and your insurance.  I am in network with United Health Care PPO, Cigna, Sunshine Health and Molina. Other insurance companies like BCBS and Aetna will cover home birth midwives but at your policy's out-of-network rates. If your policy doesn't cover out-of-network providers and there are no in network providers who offer home birth, then you can request a gap coverage or letter of agreement. This basically asks your insurance to grant in-network rates to your home birth midwife because no in network providers are available.  If a gap is obtained, the insurance company will still set an allowable amount.  How much your insurance will pay is then determined using this allowable amount and your deductible, copay and coinsurance. I can check your insurance coverage and give you an estimate for this amount. Then we will establish a portion of the Maternity Package to be due before you deliver.  Most insurance companies require a global claim to be filed at the time of birth.  Payment from the insurance can take 6-8 weeks.  Once the insurance payment is received, we will settle any outstanding balances.
